Important info before booking your hide

JLF Co stocks a small range of hides for faster turnaround times.

If you are sending your own hide to me, please allow around 3 extra weeks in the overall processing time to cover postage and handling.

Please fill out the enquiry form first. Once I have collected your details, I will supply the postage address for sending your hide.

PRICING & PROCESSING GUIDE

Engraving rate
Engraving starts at $88 + GST per hour.

Typical engraving time
Most hides take around 2.5–3 hours in total.

Standard design guide
This estimate is based on the example designs shown on my website, with the design placed in the bottom corner of the hide.

Return shipping
Return shipping is usually around $35–$55, but this is subject to change.

WHAT CAN CHANGE THE PRICE?

  • Hair length and hair thickness both affect engraving time
  • Some hides that look short-haired can still be thicker or denser than expected
  • Mid- to long-haired hides often need multiple passes to engrave properly
  • Extra passes increase the total engraving time, which can increase the final price

Please note: I cannot always give a 100% exact quote upfront until I see how the hide engraves. If a hide goes over the standard 3-hour engraving time, I do still try to keep the total reasonable.

Customer-supplied hides are a natural product and may vary in hair length, thickness, density, tanning, and overall condition. Pre-existing flaws or quality issues within the hide may affect the engraving result. Every care is taken during the engraving process, however JLF Co is not responsible for issues caused by the hide’s own natural characteristics or pre-existing condition
